Costa Teguise is centrally located on the east coast of Lanzarote, approx. 20 minutes north of the airport.
Although very much a family holiday destination, Costa Teguise is a large, well kept resort with recreational facilities also appealing to surfers and golfers.
Costa Teguise is one of the best surfing spots on Lanzarote and has two surfing beaches, complete with surfing schools and hire shops. In addition, there two leisure beaches which are sheltered and popular with families.
Two popular attractions of the resort are the AquaPark and the Costa Teguise Golf Club with Golf School, Driving Range and Pitch & Putt. Overlooking the ocean, the Golf Club has a somewhat unique setting with the fairways being set amid a volcanic landscape and lined with 1000s of palm trees. The Aquapark, always popular with the children, has several pools and a variety of slides.
Bars and international restaurants are plentiful, many being located along the promenade. There are numerous shops and supermarkets as well as the Sunday market.
Costa Teguise is approx. 10 miles/16km to Lanzarote Airport.

Unlike other resorts the seafront is hidden from view with only an odd glimpse to entice you from the car when driving through. The resort of Costa Teguise was developed in the 80's prior to which the coastline was rocky and desolate. Costa Teguise is one of those holiday places that has it all! The first Lanzarote golf course was built here in 1978 by John Harris, situated on the hillside back from the beaches the golfers enjoy some spectacular views. The only water park in Lanzarote is also here, offering a fun day out and with a play area for toddlers as well as slides for the bigger kids & adults. The Aquapark has earned a reputation for being expensive so visit when it's hot and plan to stay for the whole day. Not forgetting the aquarium which is the largest in the Canary Islands and great for kids, the adults can dive with sharks here!
When heading for the beach there is a choice of no less than 5 beaches, the most popular being Playa Las Cucharas which is especially loved by windsurfers, there are a choice of schools around where you can hire kit and take lessons. The second most popular beach would be Playa de Jablillo this is very sheltered and calm making it ideal for the little ones and popular with try scuba dives. Playa Bastian is picturesque with palm trees, stone walled wind breaks and BBQ's, there is some great snorkelling around here but it can be tricky getting in and out of the water.
There's a real Spanish vibe to be found along the Avenida Islas Canarias on a Friday night. Go to the evening market in Pueblo Marinero, pop in for a swift one in the tiny bar called Chispas before a embarking on a tapas crawl stopping in the likes of Repikada, Txapela and El Bocadito.
The King of Spain has had a villa on the seafront here since 1991, the royal family have spent holidays in Lanzarote but the most popular visitor is Spanish President, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero who is returning again for his fourth family holiday in August 2010. If you fancy having a peek at their villa - La Mareta is situated at the end of the promenade between Playa Bastian and Playa Ancla.
The PWA World Tour freestyle windsurfing competition takes place here during the first week of July and the Costa de Músicas is a live music festival held annually during the last week of September.
Costa Teguise is a wonderful amalgamation of surf culture, family entertainment and a resort that literally fit for a king.
