They returned from the trip, sold up and were back as residents on the island within three months!

Jules Jules came on holiday to Lanzarote with her husband and two young kids at the turn of the century. The whole family were immediately smitten with the island and the lifestyle, which was in stark contrast to their own, back in corporate Britain.

They returned from the trip, sold up and were back as residents on the island within three months! To anyone who knew her at the time, this was astonishing! She had been born and raised in the same town, and had worked her way up with one company since leaving school. And yet here she was planning to move her young family to a little island in The Atlantic.

Decided to focus on sharing their adventures with as many people as possible by becoming full time writers and bloggers.

Over the years, her love of the island has grown rather than diminished, and after building a successful estate agency with her husband Mike, the couple sold out in 2008 and decided to focus on sharing their adventures with as many people as possible by becoming full time writers and bloggers.

My favourite things about the island are obviously the weather, but also the sheer beauty of the place

Jules' blog, Lanzarote Information, has grown to become the English language authority on the island, attracting lots of traffic to her prolific output. She's become well known for capturing some stunning images, using the incredible pollution-free light to great effect.

"My favourite things about the island are obviously the weather, but also the sheer beauty of the place. Hardly a day goes by where a view from somewhere doesn't take my breath away. The island is only 80KM long, but there's still so much of it to explore and enjoy, from trekking along mountain paths, to spending time in, on or under the ocean."

Lanzarote truly has something for everyone, from the cosmopolitan marinas, to the breathtaking volcanic region, to the barren and unspoilt northern towns.

Mike has also got into the act, by publishing the story of the family's decision to move to Lanzarote, in his acclaimed book Living in Lanzarote, which hilariously charts the ups and downs of their early days on the island.

The couple are at the heart of the island and the island is in their hearts. They can truly be described as "Lanzarote lovers.".
